As you are likely aware, PCS travel orders are designed to provide for travel and transportation expenses of an employee and immediate family members, movement and storage of household goods and personal effects, and certain other allowances incidental to movement overseas. The military will take the responsibility for the shipping of your first vehicle, but you are responsible for the moving cost of any additional vehicles.
Before the move, you must provide:
– Copy of your orders;
– Your original title, if there is no lien on the title at the time of shipping;
– If you have a lien, you must get a notarized letter of release from the financial institution that is the current lien holder, along with 3 notarized copies of the front and back of the title;
– A notarized bill of sale, if you have recently purchased a car;
– A copy of your passport picture page.
